How do we package our beef?

At MidAmerican Beef, frozen is fresh! We process our beef locally, using a flash-freeze method for each cut to lock in its rich flavor and tenderness. This method ensures your beef stays exceptionally fresh and delicious, preserving its peak quality for up to 12 months in your freezer.

After being flash-frozen, our individual retail cuts are also vacuum sealed for your convenience. Custom order Bulk Beef, such as Whole and Half beef, is packaged to your preferences during ordering.

How do I order Bulk Beef, such as a Half or Whole Beef?

Ordering from MidAmerican Beef is simple and hassle-free. Here’s how it works:

1. Choose Your Beef Option

Decide whether you’d like to order a Whole Beef or Half Beef, depending on your household size, freezer space, and cooking habits. Not sure which to choose? Check out our guide above to help you decide!

2. Place Your Order

Pay your Whole Beef or Half Beef deposit online and we'll contact you, OR call us directly to place your order. A deposit is required to secure your beef. This ensures that your order is prioritized and reserved for you.

3. Customize Your Cuts

After your deposit has been paid, we’ll discuss your preferences. You’ll have the option to customize:

  • Steak thickness (e.g., 1”, 1.5”, or 2”)
  • Roast sizes (e.g., small or large cuts)
  • Any additional processing requests (e.g., converting more roasts into ground beef).

We’ll walk you through the process, so you get exactly what you want!

4. Processing and Packaging

Your beef will be processed at a trusted, local facility to ensure quality and freshness. After your beef has dry-aged for 21 days, each cut is:

  • Vacuum-sealed to preserve flavor.
  • Labeled for easy identification.
  • Boxed, ready for your freezer.

5. Pick Up Your Order

Once your order is ready, we’ll arrange a convenient pick-up time. We’re here to ensure the process is smooth and easy.

What is "Whole Beef" and "Half Beef"?

These are options of buying beef in bulk. Buying bulk beef is a great way to have convenient, cost-effective, and high-quality beef ready for every meal. No last-minute trips to the store, no worrying about running out. Plus, every cut is flash-frozen at it's freshest state to lock in flavor and freshness.

Whole Beef:

100% of the beef from one steer. When you buy a Whole Beef, expect around 600 lbs of beef in your freezer. We will work with you to personalize the processing and cutting to your liking.

Half Beef:

50% of the beef from one steer. When you buy a Half Beef, expect around 300 lbs of beef in your freezer. You will make selections to personalize the processing and cutting to your liking.

Currently, we do not offer shipping. To ensure the highest quality and freshness, we provide local pick-up options instead. Simply place your order by calling us, and we’ll arrange a convenient pick-up location within 30 miles of Cowgill, MO. This allows us to deliver your beef in perfect condition, straight from us to your table.
