MidAmerican Beef is a family operation centered in the Lathrop/Cowgill area of northwestern Missouri. It brings together the talents, experience, and expertise of individuals with a passion for raising top-quality cattle, and bringing exceptional quality beef directly to your table, at a fair price.
In 2008, brothers-in-law Jeff Murphy and J.C. Claypool owned separate cattle operations that were operating together – Murphy Land and Cattle, and Claypool Land and Cattle. In 2019, the two companies formally merged, forming MidAmerican Beef.
Our company produces an exceptional product by controlling every aspect of production. This includes careful select breeding, raising the cattle under the most low-stress and humane conditions possible, and growing the crops which are mixed to provide feed.
We utilize local packing houses so you can place an order for a whole beef, a side, a quarter, or a “bundle” – an assortment of your choice of cuts – produced start to finish under the MidAmerican Beef brand. You’ll taste the difference.
